{"id":30,"date":"2005-01-13T22:30:58","date_gmt":"2005-01-14T03:30:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.surls.net\/news\/?p=30"},"modified":"2005-01-13T23:00:37","modified_gmt":"2005-01-14T04:00:37","slug":"reloading-shotshells","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.surls.net\/news\/?p=30","title":{"rendered":"Reloading Shotshells"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theartfarm.com\/~msurls\/news\/wp-content\/MecJr.jpg\" alt=\"Mec 600 Jr Mark 5\" \/><br \/>\nDaniel bought a 410 gauge Remington 1100 to shoot skeet.<br \/>\nSo Santa brought him a MEC 600 Jr Mark 5 410 guage reloader for 3 inch shells.<br \/>\nWe then converted it to reload 2 1\/2&#8243; shells as we were trying to keep costs to a minimum.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.theartfarm.com\/~msurls\/news\/wp-content\/410shells.jpg\" alt=\"1st seven loads\" \/><br \/>\nHere is an image of the first seven shells off the reloader.<br \/>\nAs you can see it takes a bit of effort to get it right.<br \/>\nCareful adjustment of the crimp depth is essential.<br \/>\nEven though the shell looked good, it would not eject properly.<br \/>\nSuspecting everything, we were ignorant of the proper course to take.<br \/>\nAfter reading we new we needed to measure the powder and shot weight thrown by the reloader.<br \/>\nBut without an accurate scale&#8230;<br \/>\nMy BEST friend Matt Simerson blessed us with a RCBS 10.10 scale&#8230;accurate to 1\/10th of a grain.<br \/>\nAfter measuring the shot weight, we found it necessary to add 4 extra #7 1\/2 pellets to reach the required 1\/2 ounce.<br \/>\nThis simple change made the gun eject the shell as required.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s like they say&#8230;it&#8217;s all in the details.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Daniel bought a 410 gauge Remington 1100 to shoot skeet.
